THE TOUCH-A-TRUCK FAMILY FESTIVL PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH A FUN CHANCE TO SEE ALL THEIR FAVORITE TRUCKS, FIRE ENGINES,TRACTORS, RACECARS, MILITARY VEHICLES AND MUCH MORE! THERE IS A $5 PARKING FEE. A CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE HALL COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER’S ADOPTION PROGRAMS WILL BE HELD AT LAUREL PARK ON FRIDAY, MAY 17TH AT 7:30PM. “PIRATES OF THE OPRY”, A JIMMY BUFFET TRIBUTE BAND, IS SCHEDULED TO PERFORM ON THE BEAUTIFUL SHORES OF LAKE LANIER AS PART OF A WEEKEND EVEN KNOWN AS “HAWGIN’ ON LANIER”.
“HAWGIN’ ON LANIER” INCLUDES THE FRIDAY NIGHT CONCER AND A MUD RUN, CAR SHOW, KCBS BARBEQUE COMPETITION, AND MORE ON SATURDAY. THE SATURDAY EVENTS BENEFIT THE GAINESVILLE JAYCEES, WHO WILL ALSO BE SELLING BARBECUE DINNERS AT THE CONCERT ON FRIDAY NIGHT.

Hall County Animal Shelter to Host Concert

The Hall County Animal Shelter is hosting a couple fund raising events in Hall County this month.

The Animal Shelter will also be hosting a concert to benefit the Hall County Animal Shelter’s Adoption Programs.

This concert will be held in Laurel Park on Friday, May 17th at 7:30PM.

Who will be playing? Pirates of the Opry – A Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

This performance will be on the beautiful shores of Lake Lanier as part of a weekend event known as “Hawgin on Lanier.”

“Hawgin’ on Lanier” includes the Friday night concert and a mud run, car show, KCBS barbecue competition, and more on Saturday. The Saturday events benefit the Gainesville Jaycees, who will also be selling barbecue dinners at the concert on Friday night.

Tickets for the concert are $15 each or $300 for a table of eight and include dinner for eight. Tickets can be purchased by calling Katie Crumley at 770-297-5504 or emailing kcrumley@hallcounty.org. Individual tickets will also be available at the door.

Attendees are welcome to come by boat or by car. Amphitheater seating is available or guests may choose to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the lawn.

GDOT invites Public to Give Input on SR 20 Projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation invites the public to provide input on the potential
improvements to State Route 20 between Canton and Cumming.

The open house meetings will include interactive stations for the public to learn about the next steps of the SR 20 project, including Land Use and Transportation, Environment and Alternatives.

There will be no formal presentations; however, GDOT staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

The public is invited to attend the following meetings:
