Jan. 29, 2013 – Yesterday a woman and her newborn baby boy were taken to the hospital after she gave birth on the side of Ga. 400.

According to the Associated Press, Ivon Garcia and Jose Francisco, of Alpharetta, were expecting their son to be born in mid-February but Garcia began having contractions Monday morning.

Garcia and Francisco were on their way to Northside Hospital when they had to pull over on the northbound lanes of Georgia State Route 400 near Interstate 285 so Garcia could give birth.

Medics took the couple from the highway to Northside Hospital, and officials said the woman and her son are both in good condition.
