GAINESVILLE — Get ready for a big crowd, traffic contestion in the downtown area and lots and lots of fun as the annual Mule Camp Market gets underway in Gainesville today.
City officials expect up to 75,000 people to visit between today and Sunday. Because of the massive influx of people, only pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the downtown square.
Gainesville Police spokesman Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said there will be numerous road closures for the event until it comes to an end at 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Sectons of Washington, Spring, Maple, Main and Bradford streets will all be closed.
