Mar. 18, 2013 – The body of a man was recovered by Forsyth County authorities Yesterday.
According to Robin Hill, spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, a fisherman found the body near Bald Ridge Creek about 9:30 a.m. and alerted authorities, who pulled the body from Lake Lanier.
Hill said she couldn’t release any information about the victim until the next of kin could be notified.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime laboratory in Decatur.
As you know, Forsyth County authorities had been searching for George “Marty” Counts, the fisherman who went missing on Feb. 11.
Although a positive identification has not been made, authorities suspect the body is that of 47-year-old Counts of Tucker.
