Apr. 2, 2013 – Cool Springs Park opening ceremony rescheduled for April 8
The opening ceremony for Cool Springs Park, which was originally scheduled for March 23, has been rescheduled for Monday, April 8 at 5:45 p.m. The original ceremony was to be held before the inaugural games at the park last month, but it had to be postponed due to the threat of inclement weather.
The event will take place on one of the park’s ball fields and will include remarks from Hall County District 2 Commissioner Billy Powell, the Hall County Parks and Leisure Services Board and other key community leaders who helped bring the park to fruition. The ceremony will precede previously scheduled ball games and practices at 6 p.m. that evening.
Cool Springs Park is located on 70 acres in the Chestatee area of northwest Hall County. It includes three baseball/softball fields and a concession/restroom building. The park property was donated to Hall County in 2003 by Cool Springs, LLC. The total construction cost for the fields was roughly $1.8 million dollars and was funded by SPLOST dollars and impact fees.
