Mar. 05, 2013 – A couple from Dawson County was arrested last week for setting fire to a home off War Hill Park Rd.
31 year old James Henry Raines and his wife Gloria Ann Raines, also 31.
According to the Times, They were taken into custody in Dawsonville Feb. 28.
He is charged with first-degree arson and she is charged with making false statements and concealment of facts.
And they both face probation violation charges.
State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said the couple was in the process of being evicted from the Diane Circle house they were renting when the home owned by June Young was torched April 26, 2012.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for a third suspect in the case, William P. Thurmond, 45, also of Dawson County.
He will be charged with first-degree arson, making false statements and concealment of facts.
According the Times, James Raines remains in Dawson County sheriff’s custody with bond set at $30,000 following a first appearance hearing in Magistrate Court on Friday.
Gloria Raines was released Feb. 28 to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office after posting a $1,700 cash bond.
