Aug. 15, 2013 – There will be public dedication ceremony for the new Don Carter State Park on Lake Lanier in the near future.
The ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 16 and there is a special guest speaker to be there at the 11AM Event, Gov. Nathan Deal.
Guests are invited to enjoy the park’s beach, boat ramps, playground and trails afterward, with the normal $5 parking fee waived that day.
This is Georgia’s newest state park and it is named in honor of Don Carter, who is the longest serving member of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources board – 29 years.
