Mar. 05, 2013 – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces maintenance plans for this week in Banks, Habersham, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns and White Counties if weather cooperates.
Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. This is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.
WHEN: Crews will work Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.
WHAT and WHERE:
Banks – a crew will inspect underground drainage structures for SR 15/US 441
Habersham – A crew is adding rubberized asphalt to SR 15/US 441, this work will require a lane closure in the work zone. A bridge crew will be repairing the joints on the SR 15 Railroad bridges, one lane will be closed on the bridge as crews work. Damaged guardrail will repaired on SR 365.
Lumpkin – a crew will inspect underground drainage structures along then clean and restore ditches along SR 19
Rabun – a crew will inspect underground drainage structures for SR 2
Stephens – a crew will repair and restore ditches and shoulders alongside on SR 145
Towns – a crew will mow SR 2
White – a crew will inspect drainage pipes along and under SR 11/US 129 and SR 115
Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
