Mar. 05, 2013 – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces routine maintenance activities planned for this week in Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Hall and Gwinnett Counties if weather permits.
Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. This is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.
WHEN: Crews will work Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.
WHAT and WHERE: Barrow – crack sealing on SR 211, this work will require a flagger directing traffic through the work zone
Dawson – cleaning and restoring drainage ditches alongside SR 183 and SR 136
Forsyth – mowing on SR 306 and SR 9
Gwinnett – A crew will pick-up trash along SR 13 while guardrail damage will be repaired on SR 20 and I-85. Asphalt patching is planned on SR 13 and will require a lane closure as crews work. A crew will be hand sweeping and cleaning the curb and gutter along SR 124 in the Snellville area. The right lane will be closed as crews sweep and clean in an area.
Hall – patching damaged asphalt on SR 53, cleaning and restoring drainage ditches alongside SR 369 and SR 332, repairing damaged guardrail on SR 365, rebuilding shoulders alongside SR 51 and SR 284
