GAINESVILLE — A 49-year-old Hall County man who had consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years on probation.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said the condiditions of Weyman Edward Wheeler’s probation include that he has no contact with the victim and that he be placed on the sex offender registry.

Wheeler’s attorney said he plans to seek to shorten the length of his client’s sentence based on a provision that would allow a sentence of under 10 years.

Wheeler was found not guilty of aggravated child molestation last month.
