Jun. 25, 2013 – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces maintenance work will begin tonight on I-85 north of SR 15/US 411, the Banks Crossing area.
WHEN: Crews will work overnights Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning as weather permits. Overnight work is expected to last approximately 3 weeks if weather cooperates.
WHAT: I-85 is concrete. The slabs or sections of concrete are aging and maintenance work is needed to provide a smoother riding surface between the sections.
WHERE: Work will occur on I-85 north beginning north of SR 15/US 441 for 2 miles. The right or outside lane will be closed for concrete slab maintenance.
Delays are expected as this work closes one of two northbound lanes on I-85. Please avoid this area if possible overnight as work occurs.
