Mar. 14, 2013 - Authorities have released the names of the two drivers who were killed in that head-on collision Tuesday morning in North Forsyth.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the 29-year-old woman was Valerie Jean Martin of Cumming and the man was 42-year-old  Shane Michael Thurmond of Dawsonville.

They both died after the collision on Ga. 53 near Porter Lane.

The wreck occurred about 9 AM Tuesday when a 1994 BMW driven by Mr. Thurmond crossed the highway and struck Ms. Martin’s 1991 Honda Civic.

Luckily, neither vehicle had any passengers.
