CUMMING — Forsyth County firefighters rescued a skydiver who was left clinging to a tree limb about 80 feet in the air last week.
The man, who was not identified, suffered only minor scratches.
Lt. Debbie Lindstrom of the Forsyth County Fire Department said the rescue took about 45 minutes.
“We used our ladder truck and manipulated it around to position it to reach him,” she said. Two firefighters then climbed the ladder, secured the man with a harness and a rope before guiding him to safety.”
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. near Shady Grove Road in north Forsyth. Ironically, that is the same place a plane crashed last month, killing two Cumming men.
