Dec. 10, 2012 – We’ve kept you up to date with all the Spout Springs Road news from South Hall, now we learn that Spout Springs may not be all that gets rebuilt if the project moves forward in the next decade.
It appears that Transportation engineers and planners are looking to do work to Elizabeth Lane.
They want to realign the road so it will line up with Lake Sterling Drive that leads to Sterling on the Lake, which is one of the area’s largest neighborhoods.
Also a traffic light would be installed at the new intersection or just moved from where Elizabeth Lane now juts off Spout Springs.
Note: The Elizabeth Lane traffic light was put up several years ago as part of a series of improvements intended to be a short-term solution to Spout Springs’ traffic woes.
Also in the plans is lining up the driveways to Flowery Branch High and Spout Springs School of Enrichment and installing a signal light at that intersection.
The plans call for Spout Springs, which now is mostly two lanes, to be widened between Hog Mountain Road in Flowery Branch and Thompson Mill Road in Braselton.
According to Hall’s 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, the project could take place between 2018 and 2030.
We now have an inflation-adjusted cost estimate for the project, it is $58.3 million.
