Aug. 13, 2013 – The South Hall Teenager who killed her newborn daughter has been sentenced.
A Hall County Superior Court judge sentenced 18 year old Haley Brook Clark yesterday to seven years in prison.
Judge Andrew Fuller also placed Clark, on probation for a total of 33 years on two counts of cruelty to a child in the first degree.
Judge Fuller told the teen she had been given a great opportunity from where she had found herself, because on July 18, 2012, Clark had been charged with malice and felony murder in the death of 9-day-old little girl, Olivia Clark.
Clark pleaded guilty Aug. 5 to the lesser charges, with a sentencing hearing taking place last week before Judge Fuller.
In this case the defense was seeking a sentence with no prison time; the prosecution, the maximum 40-year sentence, 20 of which would be served in prison.
