Jun. 27, 2013 – We have some great news for travelers this coming holiday weekend.
The Georgia Dot says that they will be restricting construction-related lane closures, so that motorists can better enjoy the Fourth of July holiday.
The lane closures will cease at noon Wednesday, July 3 and will remain open through 5 AM Monday, July 8.
But on every other day there will be regular road work, for example: The Overnight resurfacing coming to Commerce on Sunday, June 30.
The crews will be resurfacing State Route 98 from State Route 334 to Washington Street, that is if weather permits.
Work is scheduled to begin Sunday night and will continue Monday and Tuesday night. And like I said before No lane closures are allowed from Wednesday through the end of the Independence day Holiday weekend.
Work is scheduled to resume Monday night, July 8 and continue nightly as weather permits.
Just so you know, lane closures are only allowed overnight starting at 7 PM and continuing to 6 AM the next day.
And Crews are planning to work Sundays – Thursdays as weather permits.
